Expert EDI Advice: Everything you need to know about EDI document types, trading partners, integrations, and more.
Thursday, February 23, 2017Lauren Macdonald
At lunch yesterday, a friend asked me, “I’ve got online selling down, but what does it take to sell my products in ‘big-box’ stores?” Apart from knowing that she’d need to have a barcode on each and every item, she wasn’t sure even where to start. In the evolution of any growing business, merchants eventually hear the acronym “EDI.”
If you’re new to the world of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) there can be an overwhelming amount of information to consume. EDI is not the easiest concept to wrap your head around if you haven’t been using it on a day-to-day basis as part of your regular business process.
EDI is a fundamental component of doing business in this day and age, making it an important concept to learn and understand.
Why Michigan is the place to be for growing eCommerce businesses
Thursday, February 16, 2017Lauren Macdonald
Michigan may seem like a bit of an underdog in the United States eCommerce industry when compared to the ‘giants’ like California, New York, Florida, etc. But make no mistake, this State is quickly becoming one of the fastest growing eCommerce hubs in North America.
Walmart's 'ShippingPass' is a thing of the past...
Monday, February 13, 2017Lauren Macdonald
Say “hello” to free 2-day shipping for everyone!
Walmart used to have a subscription offer (comparable to Amazon Prime) which was known as “ShippingPass.”
It allowed ShippingPass members to receive a 2-day shipping perk on roughly 1 million eligible items. It came with a free 30-day free trial and was then available for $49 per year.
But now, in what seems like another effort to compete with Amazon, Walmart has decided to allow all US Walmart.com customers this service with no membership fee required. That’s right, everyone can benefit from Free 2-Day Shopping on eligible orders with no additional costs associated.

Central Florida is Becoming a Key Hub for eCommerce
Monday, January 30, 2017Lindsay Hampson
It’s pretty amazing, isn’t it. Looking through the eyes of a merchant who’s been in business for 50 years, you’d hardly recognize today’s buyers. Today’s buyers are opening their internet browsers rather than turning on their cars to shop. While this shift is apparent around the world, there is evidence that Orlando, Davenport, Lakeland, Jacksonville, River City, and Tampa are at the center of the eCommerce shift in the US.

In the United States, online sales are expected to grow more than 17 percent this year, according to eMarketer. One area seeing significant eCommerce growth is Texas. UPS spokesman Dan McMackin has said that the company plans to add about 3,370 workers in Houston to keep up with the growth in shipping from online shopping.
As the eCommerce industry expands in Texas, more and more retailers are looking at integration between their eCommerce websites and their accounting packages as a means to make business easier and more efficient.
Beyond accounting: Epicor presents best practices for eCommerce
Wednesday, January 25, 2017Lauren Macdonald
Running an eCommerce business requires smart thinking in order to get your online store and your products in front of eyes that would be interested in what you have to offer. Doing so, requires connecting with your customers in places that they already frequent, whether that be on social media, blogs, online forums and communities, or popular websites.
According to The Connected Retailer: Meeting Customers Where They Want to Be,
a blog and webinar series by our friends at Epicor, in this day and age it is consumers who are dictating how, where, and when they do research and make purchases. In order to meet the demands of consumers, you have to be present on the areas that your target market is searching.
121eCommerce: How Magento Features Can Boost Your Sales
Friday, January 20, 2017Lauren Macdonald
Our new friends at 121eCommerce wrote a killer blog about Magento features. Read on to learn more.
Magento is one of the most powerful platforms, we have all heard that many times. But what does that mean to you? Does that really have an effect on your business or is it a software thing your developer likes to say which has no real connection to you.
In the world of eCommerce, your website is your salesman and Magento's features help make those sales. You don’t get to meet the people you are trying to sell to, that means no matter how good your sales skills are, they won’t make an impact. Instead your site needs features.
Magento is full of really cool features for all aspects of your business, here are some features that can be used to help boost your sales:
