Shopify/Shopify Plus analysis through the eyes of AbleSense, Lucid Fusion, and Growth Spark. Part 2: Scalability

Friday, July 20, 2018Lauren Macdonald Hi again, Marc Darmon here!  Last week I kicked off a new partner series on the blog with my friends from AbleSense, Lucid Fusion, and Growth Spark. Part 1 featured their insights on Shopify/Shopify Plus in terms of their community and support. If you missed it, catch up here.

This week, we’re talking about scalability! Read their thoughts, below:
Scalability:

For many forward-thinking merchants, Scalability is key when choosing a platform. How have some of your clients seen success in growing with Shopify?

AbleSense

“Scalability is one of the features we love about the platform. Some of our smaller merchants start with a lower plan, and then scale up as the business grows to add other features such as gift certificates and carrier calculated shipping. Others keep the same Shopify plan but scale up by adding extra functionality like pickup or delivery through the app marketplace.”

Lucid Fusion

“Shopify Plus is built for scalability.  We have never experienced any latency when our clients go from single digit to thousands of concurrent visitors.  Unlike other platforms, Shopify Plus isn't built just to maintain status quo but rather to help brands grow.“

GrowthSpark

“From a pure, infrastructure, technical perspective, Shopify is the most scalable platform available. There are no limits to products, orders, or really anything on the platform; we’ve never seen a performance based issue related to scalability on the platform, period.

There’s this baseline level of trust that the platform has earned. They also keep improving; just in the past two years they’ve introduced Shopify Plus, which is this set of tools and capabilities that are geared directly for enterprise merchants. Bigger businesses are really the fastest growing segment of Shopify users, and they need automation tools, event scheduling, advanced transaction tools, specific discount logic, internationalization, and large scale data migration. Shopify Plus supports all of those needs, and seems to get more robust by the day, especially in the past year.

They’re also very invested in the idea of sales channels, not just for e-commerce but also for shopping in general. They’re rolling out POS and marketplace sales channel integrations, as well as the ability to advertise directly on social media from within the platform. Essentially, their goal is to help their users sell in as many places as possible - which, to me, is the key to true, universal scalability.”

Clearly all of these web agencies are in agreement that Shopify is a very scalable platform that allows sellers to grow their businesses with ease. At eBridge, our universal platform is built around scalability as well. Reach out to me anytime if you’d like to learn more about it!

In the meantime, stay tuned next week for the final part of this in-depth Shopify/Shopify Plus analysis. We’ll be talking about circumstances where Shopify/Shopify Plus would be a good platform choice for your business, and I’ll be asking each partner why they choose to work with the Shopify platform.
