Discover How Simple Communication Tools Like Blogging and Email marketing Can Boost Your eCommerce Sales

Did you know that June is Effective Communications month? To celebrate, we’ve put together a list of our favourite communication tools that can help you drive traffic to your eCommerce website and improve your sales!

Start a blog!

One of the most effective ways to communicate with your target audience and drive traffic to your website is to create and maintain a blog. Here, you can prove yourself as an industry thought-leader and can attract potential customers to your website without ever needing to mention or advertise your products. The key to a good blog post is its ability to provide useful and interesting information and knowledge on a topic that is important to your target audience. Every blog post that you share is another potential landing page that could drive traffic to your website!

Live Chat options

The difference between shopping in-store versus online is that online it’s not always possible to offer customers the same level of customer service. One method for overcoming this barrier is to offer live chat capabilities on your eCommerce website. Not only will this allow customers to get answers to their questions in real time, but it will also allow you to have a conversation with them about the product and help persuade them towards making a purchase. Live chat is a communication tool that can make a major difference in a customer’s online shopping experience as well as in your overall sales.

Make the most of email marketing!

There are all kinds of ways to communicate with potential customers via email:
  • A monthly or weekly email for subscribers is a great place to inform and educate those who are already interested in the type of products you offer.
  • A follow up email can be great for customer experience as well as for securing repeat business. In a follow up email, you can ask for feedback on whether the customer is satisfied with their purchase and shopping experience, and see if they would be willing to write a review stating that fact for your website.
  • An email that offers coupons or promotes a sale is another great communication strategy that will encourage customers to visit your website and make a purchase.

Communicate on social media

Social media is everywhere, and chances are your target audience is on at least one of the many social media platforms out there. Do some research and find out which social media platforms the people you want to reach are using, and then use that social media platform as a way to communicate with them! Post and share updates regularly and be sure to respond to comments and feedback. You can also use social media to share pictures, videos, links, etc. Social media is all about communication, and it’s a tool you’ll want to be taking advantage of as part of your effective communications strategy!
